Review article on high molecular weight DBPs published in Nature Water
Recently, toxicity assays applied to disinfected waters have indicated that the >2-carbon fraction of DBPs contributes more to the toxicity of disinfected waters than the regulated THMs/HAAs and unregulated 1-2 carbon DBPs of current research interest. Unfortunately, the >2-carbon fraction of DBPs remains poorly characterized. This review discusses what is known about this fraction and the novel techniques being applied towards its characterization. (Full Text)
