Zibo Xu

Zibo joined the Mitch lab in August 2024 as a visiting scholar. He holds a bachelor's and master’s degree in environmental science and engineering obtained from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a PhD in environmental engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His past research focused on upcycling biomass waste for environment decontamination. He is also interested in exploring the electron transfer mechanisms associated with biochar/pyrogenic carbon within different environmental matrices. His current research focuses on functionalizing carbon-based electrodes for the electrochemical decontamination process.
